For our 13th Annual Scientific Conference we will return to the beautiful Gurney's Inn Resort and Spa on the Alantic Ocean in Montauk. "The End" of Long Island's famous south fork.

This program was carefully selected to bring you the cutting edge of research in our speciality of Allergy and Immunology. At the same time you will have the opportunity to intereact with nationally known speakers in a fun-filled informal and family oriented atmosphere.

Educational Objectives:

At the end of this meeting, participants should:

  1. understand the role of cellular immunity in asthma, effector molecules in episodic asthma, and the mechanisms of obstruction
  2. recognize the signs of respiratory failure, understand the use of mechanical ventilation, and identify the obstructive mechanisms involved in life threatening asthma
  3. specify the components of innate immunity, evaluate deficiencies in innate immunity, identify deficiencies in cellular, and humoral immune systems and initiate laboratory evaluation and treatment
  4. define therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, understand their use in the treatment of allergic disease, and understand how IVIG acts as an immune modulator for autoimmune disorders
  5. recognize the role of histamine in inflammation, understand the cellular interaction of histamine, and the pathology involved
  6. understand how antihistamines function as histamine blockers and become aware of the uses of antihistamines as immunomodulators
